A. Villager software is a comprehensive Transgenic Animal Management System designed to be used as a primary data management system.

Q. What is RAT?

A. RAT is our Pocket PC based Remote Animal Tracker.

Q. Does your company provide demonstrations?

A. Our company provides product presentations and product literature to those companies who are interested.

Q. How is Villager implemented?

A. Villager is PC based software that is located onsite at the customers facility.

Q. What programming language is Villager created with?

A. The Villager Graphical User Interface (GUI) is written in Visual Basic 6.0 and Microsoft Access.

Q. Is Villager Software customizable?

A. Yes, Villager can be completely customized to fit the needs of the customer. Villager was designed from the ground up to allow for easy integration and customization. New modules can be added. Existing modules can be modified to include new fields and screens. Customization would also include adding newly designed reports. Customization will require additional consulting services and will require a consulting contract and project schedule.

Q. How is Villager Software customized?

A. Villager Software requires the assistance of one of our qualified Consultants or a specially trained member of your staff.

Q. What Database platforms can Villager be deployed on?

A. Villager can be deployed on Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server or an Oracle DBMS platform.

Q. Does Villager Software require a Consultant to perform the installation?

A. It does not necessarily require a Consultant to visit the site to do the install, but this also depends on the needs of your company. If you purchase the Microsoft Access version of the software without any customization then the installation can be managed via a remote connection over the internet. If you want to customize the software or you want to deploy it on Oracle or SQL Server then it will require consulting services.

Q. Can Villager be integrated with my existing systems and data?

A. Yes, Villager can be fully integrated with your existing technologies including, Microsoft Office, Visual Basic, Existing Databases and Legacy Technologies.

Q. Is Villager able to function between departments?

A. Yes, Villager is able to function as a multi-user, multi-department or multi-site system. Villager can support a large number of users and is capable of multi-site operations using replication technology.

Q. Can I use my own reporting tools and create my own reports against Villager data?

A. Yes, Villager is built using Open System Technology. This means that the customer can use existing desktop technologies to develop additional reporting and analysis capabilities, using tools like Business Objects, Crystal Reports, Microsoft Excel, or Microsoft Access or any statistical package that uses ODBC Technology.

Q. Does Villager support any advanced analysis technologies or tools?

A. Yes, when deployed on SQL Server or the Oracle platforms the customer can take advantage of advanced OLAP technologies to perform data mining and analysis. Additional software technologies can also be used to perform advanced statistical analysis.
