Transgenic Injection Software
Using Villager's Transgenic Injection Software module, Transgenic animals can be created by several methods that include either microinjection or viral infection of embryos, or through the manipulation in culture of embryonic "ES cells" that are subsequently incorporated back into the embryo for insertion into the germ line.
Using Villager's Transgenic Injection Software module, researchers are able to track the data related to targeted inserts. Targeting of transgene expression to different cell types is achieved with the use of fusion gene constructs in which a coding sequence of interest is placed downstream of a cell-specific promoter and upstream of a signal sequence. The fusion gene construct is then microinjected into the pronuclei of a fertilized egg, which is then subsequently implanted into the oviduct of pseudopregnant recipient host. Progeny are analyzed for transgene integration and positive animals are subsequently mated, their offspring screened for transgene expression and, where positive, used to develop transgenic lines with stable integration and expression of the transgene.
Villager's Transgenic Injection Software module allows you to track all Transgenic Injection service requests. Keep track of detailed
data related to the Transgenic Injection. Automatically assign request to the Transgenic
Injection Log for easy tracking and review. Some of the data that is tracked includes:
- Transgenic Injection Type
- Concentrations
- Promoter
